I’ll be honest—I’ve struggled with my weight and faced insecurities because of it. Growing up, I was called names, and it really affected me. Over time, though, I’ve discovered some effective strategies for shedding those extra pounds.
5 Ways to Lose Weight (Based on Experience)
Of all the methods I’ve tried to lose weight, these are the ones that have really worked for me.
- Crash diet
If you ever search for “crash diets” online, you’ll find all sorts of methods. One I tried was eating only boiled eggs and crackers. Despite being allergic to eggs, I ate just two hard-boiled eggs and crackers for three days. It’s a quick way to drop about 4kg, and your appetite disappears, making it easier to maintain the weight loss.
The downside? The first two days are tough—you’ll feel extremely hungry and start questioning your life choices!
- Diet pill
I also experimented with weight loss pills at one point, although I can’t recall the exact name since it was around 2017-2018. With this particular pill, you could opt for one or two tablets per day, resulting in a weight loss of 2kg or 4kg, respectively, within a month—no need to change your diet or exercise routine.
However, the downside is that it increases bathroom visits, especially after meals, which can be inconvenient when you’re out and about. But you’ll notice it helps remove excess oils from the food you consume.
- Fruit diet
I also tried a fruit diet once, where I only consumed fruits for a whole week. I managed to shed 4kg during that time, and I definitely felt lighter and more energized. It seemed like a healthy choice for me at the time.
However, because I have a weak immune system, I got sick right after and decided not to attempt it again.
- Exercise
I know exercise is key for losing weight, but I’m not a big fan of hitting the gym. Instead, I opt for 20 to 30-minute workouts at home, following routines from YouTube videos. Surprisingly, I managed to shed 2kg in a month just by staying consistent with my workouts. I reckon I could achieve even better results if I stepped up my exercise game!
- Lesser food in take
I’ve experimented with cutting back on my food intake—no junk food, soda, or desserts. It definitely helped me drop 2 to 3kg in a week, but it’s a challenge to stick with, especially when tempting foods are around (thanks, Mom!). I believe pairing this approach with regular exercise would yield even better results!
What’s the Most Effective Weight Loss Strategy?
If you’re looking for quick results, a crash diet can do wonders—it’s all about maintaining your new weight to reap the benefits. But if you’re aiming for lasting effectiveness, it’s crucial to find what works best for your body. Some folks shed pounds by cutting back on food, while others need exercise to see results.
The key is to experiment with different strategies and listen to your body. Don’t push yourself too hard and risk getting sick—your health should always come first!
