Is It Better to Date a Woman or a Man? My Pansexual Perspective

A quick disclaimer: I am not an expert in dating, and most of my experience has been with men. But I’d like to share what I’ve learned along the way, as well as my personal preferences. As a pansexual, I’ve had my fair share of dates.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that most of my relationships didn’t work out. But that never stopped me from trying. After all, I have many options—at least in terms of gender.

Is It Better to Date a Woman or a Man?

For me, dating a woman has often been better. As a woman myself, I find it easier to understand another woman’s feelings and connect with her on a deeper level. She knows how to handle me when I’m on my period, and she can comfort me in ways that feel more intuitive. Plus, I’m not someone who dreams of having kids, so dating a woman feels like a natural fit for me.

I’ve also never been too concerned about societal judgments. Coming from an all-girls college, I learned to focus on what I want rather than what others think.

When it comes to other aspects of relationships, I don’t have significant issues with either gender. My preferences are more about the individual rather than their gender. This also explains why I’m currently dating a man, even though I previously preferred dating women. While I don’t get some of the perks I enjoyed with women, my current partner meets my emotional needs quite well. He’s close to what I yearn for when dating a woman.

Interestingly, my boyfriend has some soft qualities that many women have, which makes me happy. In a way, I’ve found a balance that satisfies me, and I’m more content in my current situation.
