When God’s Plans Are Greater Than Ours

For months, I had been praying for a way out of my toxic work situation. Since last year, I’ve been struggling under a team leader who made every day feel like a battle. I told myself I deserved better, that maybe it was time to move on and look for a new job. So I started searching by February 2025, hoping that a new opportunity would open up soon.

But as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, nothing seemed to happen. I felt stuck, frustrated, and questioned if God was even listening. Why wasn’t He helping me leave this job that was draining me so much?

Then, out of nowhere, something unexpected happened.

About three weeks ago, the CEO of our company personally reached out to me and asked if I could handle a project for him. It was a big responsibility, one that came with recognition, a salary increase, and most importantly, freedom from my toxic team leader.

It honestly took me by surprise. I realized that while I was so focused on finding a way out, God was quietly preparing a way up.

That’s when it truly hit me: sometimes, God’s plans don’t align with our timelines because He’s working on something better behind the scenes. I thought the only solution was to leave, but He showed me that I could still find peace, growth, and purpose right where I was just in a different way than I expected.

This experience reminded me of a powerful truth:

When things don’t go our way, it doesn’t mean God isn’t working. It just means His plan is still unfolding.

If you’re in a season of waiting, confusion, or frustration, I hope this story encourages you to trust God’s timing. Sometimes, the very place you want to escape from is where He’s preparing your breakthrough.

So wait patiently, keep your faith strong, and remember: His plans are always greater than ours.
