Is It Possible to Have Multiple Best Friends?

I came across this Pinterest post that really got me thinking about what it means to have a best friend. It said, “Someone you can trust with your life who has seen the best and worst of you and will be there whenever you need someone to talk to. There is a balance in the relationship between give and take. You feel so in sync with them that you can comfortably share your innermost feelings and thoughts.”

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of best friends. From grade school to college and beyond, each chapter of my life seemed to bring a new best friend into the mix. But the question that always lingered in my mind was, can you have multiple best friends?

In my experience, I believe you can. But it’s not always a linear journey. Friendships evolve, priorities shift, and sometimes people drift apart. I’ve had friendships come and go for various reasons, but through it all, I’ve learned a valuable lesson about the true essence of friendship.

Unlike some people, I’m not always vocal about my problems or feelings. I tend to keep things to myself, not wanting to burden others with my issues. But when I do reach out, it’s a sign that something is truly weighing on me, and I’m grateful for those who stick around.

In my blog post about losing friends, I opened up about the ups and downs of navigating friendships. It’s true, I’ve lost my fair share of friends along the way. But amidst the ebb and flow of relationships, I’ve found solace in the unwavering support of two best friends who have stood by my side through thick and thin.

Despite the miles between us and the months that pass without communication, our bond remains as strong as ever. They’ve been there for me during some of the toughest moments of my life, offering comfort and understanding without judgment.

In the end, it’s not about the number of friends you have or whether they all get along. It’s about finding those special individuals who accept you for who you are, flaws and all. As long as you trust them with your life and they reciprocate that trust, they can be your best friend, no matter how many you have.
